About this tool
The Word Count MD is a free, browser-based markdown utility. It works entirely client-side, which means your input is processed locally on your device and never sent to a server. This makes it fast, private and usable offline after the first load. Count words and reading time in Markdown.
How to use
- Paste or type your content into the Input box on the left.
- Click the Convert button above (or the tool processes automatically).
- Copy the result from the Output box, or download it as a file.
Privacy
Everything runs locally in your browser. Your input and output are never sent to any server. You can verify this by opening DevTools → Network.
